The government announced on 21 April 2026 that it was raising the total grant to £9,000 to enable households and small businesses to electrify their heating, to provide greater certainty over energy bills. The increase is set to come into effect in July 2026 and run to March 2027! So not long to act!

You will need to own your home or small business and currently use an oil or LPG
fired boiler. Ensure your installer is certified by the Microgeneration Certification
Scheme (MSC). They also need to be a member of any approved consumer code
such as (RECC) Renewable Energy Consumer Code or HIES consumer code.

The installer applies for the grant on your behalf. To find out if your situation fits, get
3 quotes from different installers to ensure that you are getting good value for money.
It is vital that your home is also well insulated to benefit from the level heat and
